I was born in Italy, raised in Germany and spent a few years in the U.S.  After I graduated high school in Germany, my father retired from the Air Force and we moved to Washington State.  Thereafter, I moved to Central Florida in 1974 and bought our home in Sanford in 1999.  I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts from UCF and have worked in the photography industry for about 23 years.  I enjoy photography and painting along with cooking, gardening and beekeeping.  I am very interested in everything about nature, the environment and enjoy being outdoors.  I have fostered numerous squirrels & baby field mice, orphaned kittens and injured moles, mice and turtles.  I have always had a home vegetable garden and I enjoy creating tasty healthy and nutritious meals.  I firmly believe that eating healthy doesn’t mean you have to give up good tasting foods!  I’ve learned many ways to cook with less fat and less sodium while still maintaining the wonderful flavors one finds in gourmet cooking.  I have been a vegetarian for the last 9 years and my love of the edible landscape led me to join the Sanford Community Garden in 2018.  I am always willing to help other gardeners with suggestions for cultivating crops and organic pest management techniques, but most of all I love swapping recipes for new culinary dishes.  I look forward to sharing time with other gardeners as we collaborate to create a beautiful and healthy garden community.
